Office on Violence Against Women Campus Grant
In October 2019, the Department of Justice鈥檚 Office on Violence Against Women awarded 国产探花 a $300,000 campus grant to further the college鈥檚 sexual violence prevention, intervention, and response efforts. In 2023, the college applied for a second iteration of the grant and received a $400,000 campus grant to continue our mission. Facilitated by a Sexual Violence Prevention Coordination Team (formerly the Coordinated Community Response Team) of approximately twenty on and off campus partners, the OVW grant provides essential resources and support for dynamic, sustainable change.
Sexual Violence Prevention Coordination Team (SVPCT)
Keene State鈥檚 Sexual Violence Prevention Coordination Team (SVPCT) (formerly the Coordinated Community Response Team) collaboratively oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the college鈥檚 OVW grant initiatives with the support and guidance of the OVW Program Director. The team divides its work into five major focus areas:
- Coordinated Community Response
- Comprehensive Prevention
- Student Conduct
- Law Enforcement/Campus Safety
- Victim/Survivor Services
Currently Keene State鈥檚 Sexual Violence Prevention Coordination Team includes representatives from the following departments and organizations: The Wellness Center, Title IX, Community Standards, Transitions and Community Living, Athletics, Office of Disability Services, Student Diversity, Belong and Equity, Student Involvement, Marketing and Communications, Campus Safety, Nursing, Public Health, Cheshire Medical Center, Keene Police Department, and .
Mission and Vision Statement
The Sexual Violence Prevention Coordination Team (SVPCT) provides the leadership necessary to improve 国产探花鈥檚 ability to prevent, prepare for, and respond to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking. Our work will continuously uphold the values of our community, promote the safety of all students, staff, and faculty, and reinforce a supportive learning environment as we create an accessible, equitable, and inclusive community for all.
We endeavor to make 国产探花 a model for campuses and communities striving to respond to and end campus sexual violence through:
- Community engagement and collaboration
- Proactive prevention education and programming
- Comprehensive training
- Community empowerment
- Effective intervention
- Trauma-informed response
